For this commission, I created an anime-style portrait based on the client’s yearbook photo, using their favourite anime as a stylistic reference. Rather than simply copying the image, I leaned into exaggeration and stylization—pushing defining features to better match the expressive language of anime art.

Distinct traits were deliberately emphasized to enhance personality and visual identity (for example, increasing the volume and curl of their hair) while still keeping the subject recognizable. The result is a portrait that feels personal, stylized, and inspired, blending real-world likeness with animated flair.
